Effect of vasoactive drugs on tissue blood flow in the hamster melanoma.

چکیده
Previous quantitative estimates of blood flow of transplanted tumors have been lower than surrounding tissue. Using a modifi cation of the Fick principle with antipyrine-131!, tissue blood flow was estimated in the hamster amelanotic melanoma implanted in subcutaneous tissue over the femoral triangle. Mean tumor blood flow was higher than adjacent tissue, decreased with tumor age, and responded uniquely to vasoactive drugs.

The Effect of Intra-Articular Injection of Two Anti TNF Drugs on Histopathology and Effect of Local Infusion of these Drugs on Blood Flow of Chronically Inflamed Joints in Rabbit
Background & Aims: The anti TNF drugs are new line treatment for articular inflammatory diseases which are used systemically, but due to expensiveness and some systemic adverse effects have limited usage. The aims of this study were to investigate the effect of intra-articular (local) injection of Etanercept and Infliximab as two anti TNF drugs on histopathology and also due to the important ro...
متن کاملAbnormal response of tumor vasculature to vasoactive drugs.
The effects of the vasoconstrictor phenylephrine and the vasodilator hydralazine on blood flow to tumor were studied and compared to those on blood flow to normal tissues in vivo. Regional blood flow and cardiac output were measured with the use of radioactive microspheres in 150- to 250-g inbred Harlan F344 rats bearing subcutaneous nodules of two types of transplantable carcinoma ("hard" and ...
متن کاملTheoretical feasibility of vasodilator-enhanced local tumor heating.
Normal arterioles, in contrast to the abnormal microvasculature of many solid tumors, provide a target for selective drug action which can enhance local heat treatment of the tumors. Measurements of tissue blood flow with radioactive microspheres and estimates of changes in blood flow with thermal clearance methods revealed that vasodilator drugs either decreased or did not alter blood flow in ...
متن کاملDecrease in blood flow and temperature of rat knee joint by calcium
Introduction: The Blood flow increases in the inflamed joint induced by Complete Freund’s Adjuvant (CFA). Since the anti-inflammatory effect of calcium channel blockers have been shown in pervious studies, the present study investigates the role of these blockers on the blood flow and temperature (inflammation indices) in inflamed knee joint induced by CFA. Methods: This experimental study wa...
متن کاملEffect of Low Level Laser Therapy on the Surgical Wound Healing in Hamster
Background and Objectives: Accelerating wound healing is a very important factor for patients to return to ordinary life. Laser seems to have positive effect on cutaneous wound healing. This study aimed to investigate the effect of red light laser 630 nm on cutaneous surgical wound in hamster and to compare outcomes such as angiogenesis, number of fibroblasts and collagen form...
